The weight per square meter (g/m²) is a key parameter for measuring fabric thickness, where higher values indicate greater material density. T-shirts typically use 160-220 g/m², with 180-280 g/m² being the optimal range as thinner fabrics become see-through while thicker ones create excessive heat. Short sleeves generally require 180-220 g/m² for comfortable wear, whereas long sleeves usually use 260 g/m² for extra thickness.

Definition: The length code of cotton yarn with a fixed weight of one pound. Coarse Spool: Pure cotton yarn with 18 or fewer spools, primarily used for weaving thick fabrics or pile and loop cotton textiles. Medium Spool: Pure cotton yarn with 19-29 spools, mainly used for general knitwear applications. Fine Spool: Pure cotton yarn with 30-60 spools, primarily used for high-end knitted cotton garments. Higher spool counts indicate greater softness – T-shirts typically use 21 or 32 spools.

Here, T-shirt cotton yarn can be categorized into regular combed and fine combed types. Regular combed yarn: Produced using standard combed spinning techniques, also known as uncombed yarn. Fine combed yarn: Made from premium cotton fibers through an additional fine combing process compared to regular combed yarn. This type of yarn features a neat surface texture and a soft, comfortable feel.
4️⃣What are the printing techniques for T-shirts?
T-shirt printing techniques primarily include two methods: screen printing and transfer printing. Screen printing involves relatively complex processes, including design, film production, plate exposure, printing, and drying. Its advantages include high colorfastness, durability, and wash resistance. However, the high plate-making costs make it suitable only for mass production to reduce expenses, as it cannot meet the requirements for custom or small-batch orders. Transfer printing, also known as heat transfer, offers bright colors and simple technical processes. However, its drawbacks include poor pattern retention, wear resistance issues, and reduced wash durability.
5️⃣What is the burn treatment?
The characteristic of burning treatment here is to remove the down formed by unwound fiber and protruding fiber on the surface of the yarn, so that the fabric is more smooth and beautiful, and the color of the fabric is uniform, and the clear and fine patterns can be printed.
6️⃣What are the advantages of pure cotton fabrics? Why add spandex?
Pure cotton fabric offers a soft, comfortable feel and eco-friendly performance, though it tends to wrinkle easily. Adding a small amount of spandex significantly enhances the material’s physical properties, boosting elasticity while maintaining its natural texture and comfort. Furthermore, incorporating spandex at the neckline prevents sagging and deformation, ensuring lasting elasticity.
