🍀 Many people have a big myth that clothes should be sun-dried to kill germs after washing. Although it is true that clothes should be sun-dried after washing, do you know that some clothes can not be exposed to the sun directly or even for too long? Below, share how to sun-dry clothes:)

❇️ Why can’t clothes be exposed to the sun for too long?
1️⃣ Remember, clothes can be sun-dried but not for too long!!!
2️⃣ Sunlight acts as a natural disinfectant, while ultraviolet (UV) rays effectively eliminate various harmful organisms including mites, bacteria, and viruses. The optimal time for clothes drying is between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, with the strongest UV radiation occurring from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. However, you don’t need to dry them for too long – about 3 hours is usually sufficient.
3️⃣ The fabrics we usually wear are mainly divided into natural fibers and chemical fibers. Different fibers have different resistance to the sun. Simply put, if clothes are exposed to the sun for too long, it is easy to make the fiber brittle and the structure destroyed, so the life of the clothes will not be so long…

✳️ How to dry all kinds of fabrics?
1️⃣ Cotton/blend woolen products:
After washing, dry it in the sun, but do not expose it for too long to avoid fiber damage.
2️⃣ Silk fabrics:
After washing, do not expose to sun. Hang it in a cool and ventilated place to dry.
3️⃣ Wool and silk fabrics:
Direct sunlight can easily lead to yellowing, it is recommended to dry in shade.

✅ Precautions when drying clothes
1️⃣ Avoid direct sunlight:
Dark or bright clothes should be sun-dried on the reverse side and not be exposed to direct sunlight, especially cotton clothes, so as not to fade easily.
2️⃣ White clothes, avoid prolonged sunshine:
White clothes can be sun-dried, but it is recommended not to do so for too long to avoid yellowing.

♻️ After reading this article, don’t think that any clothes can be taken out to sunbathe. Sunbathing for too long will shorten the life of clothes. If you want to wear clothes for a long time, take good care of them 🙂
